JV Volleyball Enjoys Early Success in Pre-league Action

After 2 non-league victories, the Girls JV Volleyball team participated in the Gladstone JV Tournament. The Lady Lancers defeated several local public high school teams on their way to the Championship game against Maranatha.  Although the Lady Lancers came up short in the Championship game and lost 25-23, their 2nd place finish from a pool of 16 teams is quite a achievement for the Western Christian JV Volleyball team.

The next tournament on the schedule was the Ayala High School JV tournament on Sept 26. The Ayala tournament featured several large public high schools from the Inland Empire. The Lady Lancers found themselves in one of the toughest brackets which included Los Osos HS and Chino Hills HS.  Western Christian did not back down and absorbed several huge hits from the taller and powerful hitters from these large public schools. After pool play, Western Christian was matched against Alta Loma High School and the Lady Lancers pulled away at the end to win the match 25-20.  This was another nice achievement for the Western Christian JV volleyball team. The Lady Lancers will begin league play on Oct 6th.
