The voting coaches of CIF-SS Division 4AA did not punish Western for their loss to #8 Arrowhead Christian last week… or at least believed their victory at playoff contender Aquinas was adequate compensation. There was no movement at all in the top 10 poll that was released today including Western who remained the #10 ranked team. A couple of victories this week should secure that ranking or better along with favorable placement in the CIF playoff bracket. Let’s go get ‘em Lancers!

As you may know the Western Christian Cross Country team is having a phenomenal year and is ranked #2 in CIF!!! The Lancers were previously ranked #1 and they may be again before the season is over. Elbee Castro, who has become the de facto head student cheerleader at varsity volleyball games (along with JV player Felicity Mayer) is a captain of the cross country team. Be sure to seek him out tomorrow, and any other cross country team members that may be present and congratulate them for their outstanding accomplishment.
